Nuvola Rossa, a solid lacquered red beechwood bookcase with sleek, simple lines, was designed by Vico Magistretti after a lengthy analysis and interpretation of the elements that make up the classic bookcase with sides and shelves. An icon of design but also an authentic structural invention, its diagonal braces become loadbearing elements of support for the shelves and allow the side pieces to be eliminated entirely. The folding structure, that can also be used as a room divider, places a central role on the hinges and supports six shelves.Its elegant, essential aesthetic, timeless and user-friendly, have made it an undisputed icon since 1977, imitated by many as an example of simplified functionality through the interplay of shapes.
